Voice of the Veteran Chairman Peter Palivos Receives U.S. Army's Highest Civilian Honor - A First for Nevada
History was made on 22 November 2025, when Peter Palivos, Chairman of the Board for Voice of the Veteran, received the United States Army's Distinguished Public Service Medal (DPSM)-the highest civilian award bestowed by the Army and granted by order of Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll. This prestigious honor, reserved for individuals whose service has made exceptionally outstanding contributions to the U.S. Army, was presented by General Andrew Poppas, a four-star general and Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command. With this award, Peter Palivos becomes the first civilian in Nevada's history to receive the DPSM. Significantly, Peter Palivos is only one of several people in America to receive this honor in 2025 and is the first Nevadan Citizen in 161 years to receive this great honor.
