Ermou, Athens' best known "high street", ranks 15th in the international ranking of the most expensive shopping thoroughfares, according to Cushman & Wakefield. The survey firm said rents along Ermou increased by 5% in 2025 on the back of a stronger presence of international brands and growing demand. The 35th edition of the "Main Streets Across the World" report recorded some general changes in the international list, while also reporting fluctuations in rental prices that determine the commercial value of "high streets" in major cities around the world.
