Greek industrial and energy company METLEN has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ENGIE, one of the world's leading utilities in the energy transition. Under the deal, METLEN will supply ENGIE with clean electricity generated from six solar sites across the United Kingdom. The solar portfolio covered by the agreement has a total capacity of 235 megawatts (MW) and will provide more than 233 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable electricity each year. According to the company, this output will help avoid over 52,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, making a significant contribution to the UK's efforts to achieve its net-zero targets.
