Minimum Wage in Greece Over €1,000 Monthly: Eurostat
Greece is now among the European Union countries where the minimum wage exceeds €1,000 per month on an annualized basis, according to the latest consolidated data from Eurostat. The data also reflects a significant surge in nominal wages over the past six years. Following the fifth increase in the statutory minimum wage since 2022, the monthly minimum rose to €1,027 as of April, calculated over 12 months, including the two annual bonuses. This is the standard Eurostat methodology, which divides the total annual compensation across twelve months. With this adjustment, Greece moves into the mid-tier group of EU countries where the minimum wage ranges between €1,000 and €1,500 per month, surpassing Portugal, Cyprus, and Croatia since the previous Eurostat assessment.
