Greek and Israeli defense industries have reached a new milestone in their cooperation with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAB) during the Defense Exhibition Expo of Athens (DEFEA), which took place May 6-8. The agreement concerns "BlueWhale," an autonomous underwater system developed by Israel. Offered to the Hellenic Navy, the system is capable of a range of covert maritime missions, including surface intelligence gathering, submarine and underwater target detection, acoustic intelligence collection, and seabed minefield detection. According to the deal, Greece will play a key role in the production and technological advancement of the BlueWhale platform.
