Dancing Roots: a dance improvisation workshop for children by Lemesos 2030
In the frame of the 17th International Children Folk Dance Festival organised by the Limassol Folklore Association, Lemesos 2030 is hosting a dance improvisation workshop for children on Thursday 26 June at 11.30 am at Troodos Square. Dancing Roots is a workshop especially designed for children aged 10 to 16, bringing together young participants who are hosted in Cyprus by the Limassol Folklore Association as part of the three-day festival. This improvisation workshop is led by dancers and dance educators Dara Milovanovic and Melina Sofocleous and aims to introduce participants to the richness of cultural heritage through the fusion of dance and creative expression. Drawing on the rhythms and movements of the participants' traditional dances (Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Armenia, Georgia, Cyprus), the workshop invites children to explore their own traditions and discover the beauty of others through this shared experience.
